Unknown pink caterpillar - Furcula borealis
Nantahala Gorge, Southern Appalachia County, North Carolina, USA

Size: 2.5 inches
This was on my front porch, located at the edge of a meadow surrounded by mixed forest of mostly hardwoods. There are both flower and vegetable gardens near the porch. I’ve lived in this same house for over 15 years and never seen one of these before. I would love to know what it is.
