Eastern Black Carpenter Ants - Camponotus pennsylvanicus

Eastern Black Carpenter Ants - Camponotus pennsylvanicus
Wildwood Park; Radford, Virginia, USA
October 28, 2020
The ants were having a sugar feast on top of a piece of candy.(I'm assuming that it was piece of candy softened a bit by rain.) The critters scattered as soon as I raised my cam. ID, please?
