The Wasps
By Howard Ensign Evans, Mary Jane West Eberhard
University of Michigan Press, 1970
ISBN: 0472001183
Cite: 19123 with citation markup [cite:19123]
A readable reference on wasp biology. Out of print, sometimes can be found used.

A well-written, readable book on wasps.
I got this book for less than $5 of abebooks, and it seems well worth it. Although I'm sure it is dated, lots of nice information on wasp biology. It does NOT cover the parastic apocrita (ichneumonids, etc.), but focuses on the aculeates, both social and solitary, excluding bees.
