Lepidocnemeplatia sericea - male

Lepidocnemeplatia sericea - Male
Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, USA
June 15, 2008
Size: 2.6 mm
Here is a cute little scaly teneb. Pimeliinae/Cnemeplatiini/Lepidocnemeplatia sericea.
These are found throughout the west, not yet reported from NM. I've only found three during 25 years here- all of them flew to UV light at my house.

Moved
Moved from Pimeliinae.

cool. I've collected them in AZ and CA but not in NM. Do you pitfall trap by any chance? I've gotten a number of them pitfalling.

nope
Strangely enough I've never gotten into pitfall. I know it gets some good results and one of these days I'll start trying some. I mostly hand collect, UV light and Berlese funnel. Just got some great things this weekend by collecting a packrat nest and Berlese funnelling it.
