Moved from Unidentified Leaf Mines.

These mines are all empty (one dead larva). The only record of a leafminer on Zizaniopsis miliacea is a questionable one from the 1800s of the Carex feeder Cosmopterix gemmiferella (in Texas; larvae present in April and July). Hopefully you can find occupied mines at some point...

I will try to find them next year... Is barcoding possible with the dead larva? Maybe no one would do that?

 
Possible in theory,
but I'm not sure who would do it, plus only a fraction of Cosmopterix spp. have been barcoded and some of the specimens that have been barcoded aren't necessarily correctly identified, so it might not get us any closer to an ID.
