Size: 14.5 mm
Tentatively keyed to Polistinae based on Scott and Stojanovich n.d. (Stinging Hymenoptera: pictorial key to some common United States families). Narrowed to Polistes based on BugGuide resources. 2 apical spurs on the mesotibiae; clypeus with a slight apical point; anal lobe present in HW. Suspect P. dominula from photos on BugGuide - largely orange antennae with black bases.

Collected on Melilotus alba near small ponds. Elevation ca 4000 feet. Disturbed, shrubby riparian corridor on stream restoration site within a patchwork of native and non-native grassland.
