Found in mature oak/hickory forest. Sundance Lake area of the Hoosier National Forest. I am just not confident with caterpillars and only have one hardcopy reference..."Caterpillars or Eastern North America" by David L. Wagner, 2005

We would have selected
Heterocampa guttivitta, Wagner page 300. The yellow bar with the two red spots above the head fits nicely. And here is a quote from Wagner on that species "creamy subdorsal stripe on T3-A6, continuing on A7-A10 as a whiter stripe that is displaced upward." That looks to be a perfect description of what happens on abdominal segment 7 in your image. Nice find! Nice clean image of important field characteristic. If you have a full lateral shot of the side, could you post that too?
