base of FW dark, sub-basal spot dark brown, longitudinally elliptical, extending almost to end of discal spot. Uncus with dorsal setae robust, spinelike, widely spaced, distance between setae greater than width of one seta. A. sociella and A. fulminalis both have setae densely spaced.
