Tiger beetles have been reworked again

Elevated back to family, etc. See this paper.

A new global checklist of Tiger Beetles
places them in the family Cicindelidae. Details begin here. As an observer, I'm getting the sense that cicindelists/cicindelophiles wish to have their own family while general carabidologists along with fellow coleopterists do not yet feel a need for change. At any rate, I'm now using "caraboid" more often than "carabid" when refering to a member of the superfamily Caraboidea. My more inclusive designation hopefully will be acceptable to all. Just remember, supraspecfic taxonomic classification systems by their very nature are very artificial!

let's get...
broad consensus and expert input (as in actual carabid taxonomists input) before making changes

Interesting
Tribes but no subfamilies. That should make the change pretty easy if folks feel it is appropriate. We simply have to ask John VanDyk to change the subfamily page to a Family page.
Tribe Amblycheilini will need to be renamed but it looks like genus pages won't need to be moved around.
