i'm thinking this is Eubulus
Moved from Cophes oblongus. Cophes oblongus shouldn't have the elytra carinate like this, and is larger

i have one here that looks a lot like this but more worn; ended up being female E. obliquefasciatus

thanks again!

Moved tentatively... pls double-check
if id checks out, nice find

Moved from Snout and Bark Beetles.

runt?
Seems to key well from the Subfamily thru genus. But it's almost half the size stated in D&A (pixel measured size confirmed with actual measurement to nearest 0.5mm - definitely 3.5mm or less)

hmm... intriguing... the other congeners look quite different
may be malnourished... or just miserable in the harsh environment at the edge of its range )))))))))
