She is not laying "eggs"...ye
She is not laying "eggs"...yet. They assume a certain posture and rub their back legs together to create a foam out of a secretion which contains the eggs, and this hardens (ootheca) once attached to a twig. The egg case may contain as many as 200 tiny babies. I have reared many mantids and seen them do this. It's cool to watch. But they die almost immediately after laying the egg case. I also enjoy hatching out egg cases and feeding all of the babies.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping to see more with this, but when I went back to check she was gone!

I had an ootheca on a garden rock last year, but missed the hatching, I will keep looking for more, very interesting things in this tiny world.
