I think this is a noctuid. I looked through Moth Photographers group on the Noctuids and I could not find a match. Help with ID is greatly appreciated.

I believe this is Biston betu
I believe this is Biston betularia and I believe this because of the distinct dark pattern.

I agree. That is a good suggestion. Several of the Sympistis could fit including S. parvanigra. Someone on iNaturalist suggested Stylopoda groteana. Thanks for your input

 
I didn't see Stylopoda.
To me it does look better than Sympistis. Tricky!
