March-0BG.J.2002.01 - Diaperis nigronotata
March, Dallas County, Missouri, USA
May 26, 2002
Size: 5.5 mm
At U.V. light trap. Keyed in Marshall to Endomychidae, but stalled out in Arnett at the second couplet, because there is no antennal club. Mycetina perpulchra perhaps? Was afraid to clean the scales, since this is my only specimen.

Moved, might wanna revisit that key ;-)

Monkey's Uncle
I'll leave my comments in case someone else makes this wrong turn in keying, but in light of the moth scales, frassing might make sense.
