mayfly - Hexagenia
Lake Michigan Campground, Hiawatha National Forest, Mackinac County, Michigan, USA

These mayflies were emerging from the rocky shore along the Upper Peninsula of Lake Michigan. They spread their wings flat (as in this photo) and then raised them upward to their final placement (as in the next photo).
