Author of the name: Hentz. Year first published: 1847.
Identification
According to Gertch's (1939) keys to the species: "Abdomen with a large dark caudal maculation, otherwise pale. Eyes of anterior row nearly straight. Carapace light brown ....... . S. parvulum (Hentz)."
Range
southern United States, occasionally north to southern New Jersey.(1)
