Metallic Wood-boring Beetle - Agrilus cyanescens

Metallic Wood-boring Beetle - Agrilus cyanescens
Beaver Creek, Richmond Hill (N43º52'19.3"W079º23'59.0"elev.179m), York Region, Ontario, Canada
June 12, 2008
Size: 6.5 mm
Agrilus sp, swept from Fraxinus (or a similar-looking tree).

Moved
Moved from Agrilus.

Perhaps...
...I'll let it stick around for a while. If it's what you suspect this to be, that would make a new species for the guide. Except I can't take any further shots for confirmation, since the insect got eaten by fungus! I think the forest canopy is dominated by maple anyway (though I haven't bothered to keep staring upwards).
Thanks for the compliment also.

Hmm...
Are you sure you want to frass it? It's really a nice photo, and maybe someone will recognize it. Your choice.

Thanks..
Agrilus is difficult ... I'm not sure if the plant host is correct (vs. incidentally rested upon), and I don't have the specimen anymore, either. Moved from Metallic Wood-boring Beetles.

Sorry...
...I can't ID this one beyond genus. It looks like A. putillus, but that species rarely exceeds 5mm in length and is associated with maple.
