Photographed on squirrel dung. The squirrels in our yard have been gorging on mulberries. Can't find a match on Bug Guide. Any help appreciated.

False fruit fly, literally!
I found the genus Pseudotephritis in the guide, and it sure looks like these belong there:-) Nice images!

If this is a Pseudotephritis it is P. approximata, which has more dark on the wings than P. vau.

An interesting creature. Sounds like a second-hand-fruit fly.
