Emerging Dragonfly - Sympetrum

Emerging Dragonfly - Sympetrum
Harrison Lake National Fish Hatchery, Charles City County, Virginia, USA
June 19, 2008
Size: 35mm long
Three of these (and a grey treefrog) were all coming out of a cattle tank in an old field at once. Skimmers and pondhawks were patrolling the pool, but I'm not sure this is either one. It's amazing how much bigger the dragonfly is than it's exuviae.
