Our resident patio spider - Hogna carolinensis - Male
Picture Rocks, NW of Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, USA
June 16, 2008
Size: legspan over 3 in
This guy has been with us for years. Highly nocturnal, he's normally hanging under the patio roof. He's been through several lost legs and regenerations. Right now he's just missing one. Ever so often we find a shed skin.

Moved
Moved from Wolf Spiders.
Tentatively placed given the angle.

We would think a wolf spider
in the Lycosidae, rather than Philodromidae. These light colored ones often get ID'd as Geolycosa, but we just don't know enough to say for sure.
