Greater Angle-wing Katydid - Microcentrum rhombifolium - female

Greater Angle-wing Katydid - Microcentrum rhombifolium - Female
Longmont, Boulder County, Colorado, USA
August 24, 2020
This sturdy katydid was in urban development along the lower edge of the Front Range. Looks like the Greater Angle-wing but outside the typical range of that widespread species and the red eyes do not match.

The eyes are dark in color because the eyes of many katydids change color throughout the day, being light green in the day, and dark green, brown, or black at night.
