Late in Georgia - Danaus plexippus - male

Late in Georgia - Danaus plexippus - Male
Chickasawhatchee WMA, 7 Bridges Road area, Dougherty County, Georgia, USA
December 23, 2020
Lone late skittish camera-shy Monarch.
Field planted in mustard which still had blooms.
Upland area next to wooded swamps.
19-21C, Wind SE @ 9MPH gusting to 15.
Full sun to partly cloudy.
We have had a few mild frosts and at least one mild freeze.
There were many Queen butterflies in the field.
The Monarch appeared to be checking them out as if looking for a mate.
Looks like scent patch on right DHW.
