Little Clown - Acritus

Little Clown - Acritus
Loomis, Placer County, California, USA
May 1, 2020
Size: 1.0 mm
Taken from Lindgren Funnel trap.
Elevation 700’, GPS = 38.8198, -121.1173
Rural residential area with animals & oaks and conifers.

Maybe Acritus komai which is the only sp. I see in CA on BugGuide and the only sp. Info whose range is in CA.

The color is all black, but light shining through gave it an amber tint.

definitely not komai!
This is definitely not Acritus komai, as that species has the lateral metasternal stria more or less straight and ending free in the lateral metasternal third vs. a loop hooking up to the anterolateral edge as in this species. This may be A. nigricornis, though the photographs are not sufficient to tell from the several similar species.

More info wanted?
Is there is a way to separate those similar species you mentioned, that is available? I don't see any publications mentioned. Or could you send me some hints?

I can easily post more pictures if those will help (what characters or views?).

Thanks for looking at this and correcting my guess.
