C. guestfalica female? - Cerobasis guestfalica - Female
Redwood City, Stulsaft Park, San Mateo County, California, USA
January 7, 2021
Size: 1.5 mm
Beat from Quercus and collected. The complete anchor mark and other markings seem to indicate this species. Based on the sclerotized valves (?) at the tip of the abdomen, I think this is an adult female?

Must be Cerobasis guestfalica
New's Handbook for the Identification of British Insects Vol 1 Part 7 shows the pattern of spots on the face of C. guestfalica and C. annulata. He also states that in this species males are very rare, with only one record of a male in Britian.

Thanks!!
