Large bombus colony under the deck - Bombus - female

Large bombus colony under the deck - Bombus - Female
Perry County, Pennsylvania, USA
June 22, 2008
these very large bees are going in a crack in the cement underneath our deck. i have tried to locate the nest down in the basement, but have not found it yet. i suspect it might be in the wall somewhere. I say the colony is large because the bees themselves are large, and there are lots of workers going in and out

Possibly B. vagans?
