Size: ~1cm long w/o antennae
On Ascleipas syriaca on top of shady sandstone bluff with patches of remnant prairie. Identified on iNaturalist as this species.

You are correct...
There are only a few images of this species in the gallery - not a very common species - or at least not commonly encountered. I've reared it a couple of times from soft, decayed wood of basswood.
