And I would agree!
I missed it because I was narrowing the search by the eyes. Araneidae though is not included on the terrific Spider Eye Arrangements page:

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
"Tuft-legged Orbweaver," the common name, could be applied to at least a few of the other Mangora species, judging by images in "Common Spiders of North America" (Bradley). In any case, those tufts @ ~ 0.1 mm are hardly noticeable in the field or even in the BG images.
