Isotoma with short antennae? - Isotomurus palustris

Isotoma with short antennae? - Isotomurus palustris
Presidio, Rob Hill Campground, San Francisco County, California, USA
January 23, 2021
Size: 1.5-2.0 mm
Found under a rock and collected. The markings resemble Isotoma, but the short antennae and other features had me key this (incorrectly, I assume) to Neanuridae in the helpful key at collembola.org : "Key to the common surface dwelling Collembola from North America". Some sort of young or aberrant Isotoma?

Thanks Frans! Yeah, I still think I would have called this antennae short, but I need to work on it. :) I made a "forma pseudopalustris" no-taxon page for these images, appreciate the ID as always!

Think of short...
as shorter than diagonal of head. After seeing lots of Collembola specimens/species you will find this more or less intuitive ;-)

In our key, when 3 characters are listed in one choice of a tupple, you have to comply to all characters. In other words : read the ";" as "and".
Recognising the absence or presence of the prothoracic tergite requires some practise. ;-)
