Acinopterus? - Acinopterus

Acinopterus? - Acinopterus
Avondale , Maricopa County, Arizona, USA
January 16, 2021
Size: 4.5-5 mm
Found on Cucumis sativus leaf around 4 pm. While photographing, this leafhopper created two red balls, referred to as brochosomes, according to a quick browse regarding the pictured behavior. The balls were then squashed by the back legs and the liquid spread over the abdomen using the hind legs in a forward to back combing motion.
