Hi Roy, Thank you very much
Hi Roy,
Thank you very much for identifying some of my Erynnis photos. I thought that submitting photos of the genus, all at once, can make the task a bit easier. I would not surprise me at all if most are E. juvenalis, males and females, fresh or warn.

However, of this particular duskywing, which I tentatively called Erynnis baptisiae... I have photographed a visually similar individual in Ontario last year. It's posted here https://bugguide.net/node/view/1883027

Duskywing
This one is still bothering me.
The base of the FWs are not all that dark.
Could it be female Juvenal's?
I do not feel confident enough to pull the trigger.

Perhaps. All photos in Shenan
Perhaps. All photos in Shenandoah were taken on a same slope within few hours. I am not familiar with Horace's Duskywing and other Erynnis. there are no that many species in the East, but I find that field guides lack consistency. I'll see if there are papers showing species side by side.
