Difference Between The Sexes Of Eastern Tiger Swallowtails - Papilio glaucus - Male Female
White County, Illinois, USA
July 26, 2007
A side-by-side comparison to aid in identifying Eastern Tiger Swallowtails. Pictured here is a female, on the left, and a male on the right. Notice the slight dusting of coloring over the black on the upperside of the female's hindwings, of which none at all is present on the male's wings.

The female was photographed on August 10th, 2007, while the picture of the male is from July 26th, 2007.

Ha!
Any time I can be of service!
