Ichneumon Wasp - female

Ichneumon Wasp - Female
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
June 23, 2008
Size: approx 2 cm
Found this wasp with a yellow dot on it's back drumming away on a leaf. An ID would be nice, please and thank you.

Moved
Moved from Ichneumon Wasps.

Ichneumoninae

Not an ID
but probably one of the parasitic wasps (Braconidae or Ichneumonidae)? I'm not sure, but I think the yellow dot may be a mite or some other non-insect debris?

Is an ID now:-)
This is an ichneumon wasp, family Ichneumonidae, but difficult to get more specific. I do believe the bright spot is an actual marking.
