Lots of Hypothenemus in Florida
but I'm fairly certain it is H. birmanus.

I suspect the size listed is a bit inflated.

I could be wrong, but I'm moving it here while I mull it over.

Thank you Marc. Initially, the beetle landed on this well-thumbed "Guide to the Vascular Plants of Florida" (Wunderlin). I made the size estimate relative to thumb length. If you do the same, you may arrive at a smaller estimate.
Apologies, V. for my previous ill-considered placement. Can I come home now?

mais oui, bien sûr
something you may enjoy
found this last summer by pure chance

Hypothenemus? in any case not a xyleborine
'iNat says' is like 'YouTube says'

Moved from Xyleborina.
