Euphoria Herbacea

Hey, I'm new to bug guide, but I've got some new info on the Euphoria Herbacea . . .
Uh, well, I found one, but it was in Hawaii, no where near the south-eastern U.S. And also, I got it to eat, 'cause I didn't want it to die. About finding it on soft, damp moss, I think that's because they suck the moisture from it, not only because they lay their eggs in it. The one that I have drinks water from a soaked cotton ball and eats the meat of soft fruits such as oranges and grapes.

I'm not sure if this is really legitimate information, but seeing as on the page its food is "unknown" I thought it might be helpful for anyone else who finds one.

Maybe not
I think it is more likely that what you have is Protaetia fusca (Herbst), which somewhat resembles Euphoria herbacea, and which does occur in Hawaii. Check your specimens against the illustrations at:

Ohhh
Yah, I think that's the one. It looks like the one on the left in the illustration.
Thanks!
