Chlorocoris nymphs - Chlorocoris

Chlorocoris nymphs - Chlorocoris
Madera Canyon, Pima County, Arizona, USA
August 9, 2020
Hatchling Chlorocoris nymphs. I reared these to 4th instar and they started to overwinter. I had a lot going on and kept poor notes- I think I may have got one to 5th instar, but never got photos. Unfortunately, I wasn't attentive enough over the winter and they died before I could get them to adulthood. I do think the combination of green beans, shelled peanuts, baby carrots, uncooked rice, and ash leaves/samaras was effective. I hope to have a better time with this and to take some better notes this year now that I think I can rear them.

Likely need a larger rearing container or to separate them as they get into the later instars.
