Tiny black-brown rove beetle with squarish head, setose abdomen, and red-brown extremities & elytral suture.
Ontario, San Bernardino County, California, USA
February 11, 2021
Size: ~ 3 mm
Found in the dry part of a concrete creek channel after disturbing a tuft of grass.
It's carrying dozens of approximately 100 micrometer long (Histiostoma ?) mites.

The rove beetle keyed in the direction of Quediina (Staphilinini), but I couldn't find a match.
It resembles Erichsonius (Erichsoniina, also in Staphylinini), but there too I could not find a match.
Maybe the keys were misleading and it belongs in Aleocharinae ?

Moved
Moved from Beetles.

Thanks for the tribal confirmation, =V= !
