Germarostes aphodioides

Germarostes aphodioides
Marlton, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
June 7, 2008
I give up on the little ball of a beetle. Maybe dung or something else? It was fairly small, but I have no measurement. If I was guessing I might say 5 mm. Came to the light at night. I'm not sure if it is eating the pollen.

Great find!
These are not often seen, let alone photographed so nicely:-)

Thanks!
Any idea about their behavior. I'm curious if it might have been eating the pollen?
