Bent-line Carpet - Costaconvexa centrostrigaria - Female
Hwy 55 and Sedwick, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
May 31, 2005
Size: 26 mm
Found at a lighted wall during the day. Wingspan measured in place. Identification based on other images in the guide. (Originally identified as The Gem, Orthonama obstipata. Thanks to Robin McLeod for correction on identification--see comments.)

Moved from The Gem.

I think this is a female
Bent-line Carpet (Costaconvexa centrostrigaria).

So far, the only photo of a male Gem is Lynette's. Note what Covell calls an "oblique blackish dash from ST line to forewing apex" in the Gem. It's pretty distinct in Lynette's specimen.
