Appalachian Brown would be out of range in Nova Scotia.

The basal line (most inner line) on this specimen has an inwardly directed tooth.
The postmedian line on the forewing is jagged, not smooth.
The other lines are also consistent with Eyed Brown.

Eyed Brown
I took part in the Maritime Butterfly Atlas which started in 2010 . John Klymko took it as an Eyed Brown . I don't know which it is .
