Ptinus
Marlton, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
June 2, 2008
Size: Maybe around 3 mm?
If Ptinus hystrix is known only from TX (
http://bugguide.net/node/view/172742
), then perhaps this is Ptinus concurrens
http://mcz-28168.oeb.harvard.edu/mcz/FMPro?-DB=Image.fm&-Lay=web&-Format=images.htm&Species_ID=24620&-Find
or Ptinus fur
http://www.showmebeetles.com/showSpecies.htm?speciesId=23562
- which looks totally different than our P. fur

Only Texas?
Has this been said/written by some authority? You can't go by range data in bugguide as we are really just getting started logging location data. See also

Distribution
I was just basing it on Boris' comment on the image I quoted...
"P.hystrix probably also is out of range (seems to be known from TX only)."
