GREAT ASH GRAY SPHINX CHERSIS MOTH - Sphinx chersis

GREAT ASH GRAY SPHINX CHERSIS MOTH - Sphinx chersis
Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, USA
March 28, 2021
Size: 6cm
This large, elegant, pale gray (grey, if you prefer), beautiful eyed moth showed up on my backyard wall yesterday afternoon. What helped me to ID it was the black and white 'dashes' along the wing-tip fringe. Notice the very extended tongue underneath.
