Unknown Poduromorph - Ceratophysella denticulata

Unknown Poduromorph - Ceratophysella denticulata
Peru, LaSalle County, Illinois, USA
April 1, 2021
I cannot get them to jump, and the antenna/anal spines seem a bit smaller than my guess of H. harveyi.
Large colony inhabits a lichen covered log.
Have witnessed grazing on lichen and mold.

Ceratophysella sp. denticulata-group
Abd.4, last row of setae (called posterior setae p1-p7 on half side) : p1 distinctly shorter than p2, which is typical for the denticulata species-group.

Thank you
I am happy it was such a sunny day to be able to get proper identifying photos. Does this species lack a “spring”? All my gentle prodding with the end of a leaf and nothing. Much appreciated as always Frans ;)

Ceratophysella ...
has a well developed furca. You could collect some specimens in a glass or plastic container. When specimens crawl on the transparant wall you could observe the furca.

Will do...
thanks again!
