dark bronze lawn beetle - Amara aenea - male

dark bronze lawn beetle - Amara aenea - Male
Webster Village, Harford County, Maryland, USA
March 26, 2021
Size: 8 mm
Found crawling on grassy section of my backyard at night. Bronze sheen to dorsum. 5-5-5 tarsal formula, 11 antennomeres. To the naked eye (and the resolution of my camera lens) the thorax and elytrae appear to be impunctate, but seen under the microscope they are finely punctuate, with the punctures contiguous and shallow. There are 8 striae that run the full length of each elytron, with a shortened stria partially splitting the 2nd interval near the elytral front margin. The first stria curves around the scutellum. The only prominent dorsal setae are two near the distal edge of each eye, one at each lower corner of the clypeus, and one at each rear corner of the pronotum. Pronotal disc with two very shallow, lateral depressions. Prosternum spine is broad and rounded. My guess is one of the Harpalus. ID help appreciated.
