Cecidomyiidae with distinctive markings and c. 20 antennal segments
Santa Fe, Santa Fe County, New Mexico, USA
April 24, 2021
Size: 2-3mm
I'm new to gall midges and would like more specific identification. Wing veins suggest Lasiopterini? Note unusual white markings - wings, legs and scutellum. Also, I count c. 20 antennal flagellomeres and every reference I've found so far suggests that this is unusual in the family.
