Jonthonota nigripes, just-eclosed handraised from larva with D. guttata, named Orangie

Jonthonota nigripes, just-eclosed handraised from larva with D. guttata, named Orangie
Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
July 8, 2020
This guy eclosed on 07.08.2020 and died on 02.12.2021 - more than seven months as a full adult!
He's the *only* one of this species who mysteriously appeared in my cage of Deloyala guttata.
(See article on rearing: Raising Deloyala guttata.)

Moved
Moved from Golden Tortoise Beetle.

No more sure what it is. Both dimpled . . .

Is it possible
that he is an odd-looking Deloyala guttata, as he was reared in a cage of
D. guttata and should not have snuck into the protected cage from the outside?

Moved
Moved from Blacklegged Tortoise Beetle.

Note: scutellum orange, posthumeral spot within a dimple.

Are you sure...
... that Orangie is not a Blacklegged Tortoise Beetle?

You're right!
I will make all the related corrections. I can't figure out how Orangie ended up in a protected cage of Deloyala guttata and eclosed there. I suppose the larva ended up on a wild Convolvulus plant that I brought home before I started growing my own from seed, but I only got *one* of this species, with everyone else in the cage very clearly D. guttata. At any rate, he lived a long time on Morning Glory, so fortunately, he was with an appropriate host plant.
Thank you for pointing this out. This is the only one of this species that I've ever seen. The Texas records all occur around Dallas, and I'm in Austin. Also, I almost never find wild Convolvulus here, but now I want to find this species !!
