Size: 3.5 mm
Small dark beetles with orange spots on the elytra. Collected from shoulder blade of white-tailed deer. At least 5 present on carcass. Level floodplain bench about 20 m N of the stream in grassland partly burned in last fall's fire, dominated by Bromus inermis with patches of Carex atherodes. A male white-tailed deer died here last fall of unknown causes. Several species of beetles collected from the mostly clean-picked ribcage and shoulder blade.
Elevation ca 4000 feet. Disturbed, shrubby riparian corridor on stream restoration site within a patchwork of native and non-native grassland.
