Pennsylvania Moth - Scardia amurensis

Pennsylvania Moth - Scardia amurensis
Pine Swamp Road, Kempton, Berks County, Pennsylvania, USA
May 2, 2021
Size: 20 mm length
This immense "macro micro" had been a torment for me over the last few years. First encountered 5/2012, after I inadvertently stomped on it, it was too mangled for the fastidious standards of Bugguide to submit any images. Three times on separate occasions over the years since then I had identical experiences with single moths landing onto my UV light setup sheet, only to fly off instantly just as I had turned my head to spot them. Each was never seen again. Finally I was able to obtain this placid specimen on my sheet this date. New for PA for BG.
