Moth Caterpillar - Gloveria sphingiformis

Moth Caterpillar - Gloveria sphingiformis
6 miles northeast of Fredericksburg, at a private residence, Gillespie County, Texas, USA
May 9, 2021
Size: approx. 4"
This caterpillar was on the limestone rock siding of my house (I named him Prince Hairy, so that's not an official ID of any sort. Some research was done by local experts, and it was tentatively identified as Gloveria gargamelle, which is not typically found this far east in Texas (only other reported IDs were in Jefferson Davis County, in far west Texas). I'm very interested in confirming it as G. gargamelle, or hearing other thoughts or thoughts or ideas about what it might be.

Looks like Ann's image
of sphingiformis which would be right at home there in central Texas

Certainly looks like Gloveria
but we don't know them well enough to say which one, sorry
