Green Beetle - Dynastes tityus - male

Green Beetle - Dynastes tityus - Male
Fayette, Fayette County, Alabama, USA
July 2, 2008
Size: 2 inches
I found this specimen in a parking lot, I could not grab the poor thing before someone freaked out and took his life unfortunately, it sucks because I wanted to see one alive, which I havnt. I have found 2 of them, One is twice the size of this one with a wing span of about 4 inches. But their markings are the same and have the the horns

Dynastes tityus
Eastern Hercules Beetle

This would be a male.

According to
images here in the guide, it looks like an eastern hercules beetle. Check it out and see what you think.

Thanx
Wow everyone has such a quick response thank you, That is exactly what he looks like, the larvae are awesome looking, do you know where they like to lay their eggs and hide?? I would love to see one alive!!! Thanks again
