Silvanid beetle - Silvanus
Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA

Size: ~2.8mm
Found at light sheet in urban wooded neighborhood. Seems close to Silvanoprus but not sure. The shape of the angular protrusions at the front of the pronotum seemed to exclude most of the related genera. Thought it might be an interesting find since there are few similar examples posted from Texas.


Can't quite tell if the tarsomere is expanded or if it's just the photo angle. If this might be an interesting find, I can try to find/collect another one and make some closer photos of diagnostic details. Thanks for any input!
