Cicadellid headache - Anoscopus flavostriatus - male

Cicadellid headache - Anoscopus flavostriatus - Male
Presque Isle, Aroostook County, Maine, USA
August 14, 2020
Size: 3mm
I'm posting this because this cicadellid doesn't appear to be a species represented within the guide yet (unless I've overlooked something). This specimen was caught in a pitfall trap (odd for a cicadellid) set up in a potato field at the Aroostook Research Farm. The land supports several different crops, has small wooded pockets and areas seeded as floral amendments, so supports a rather diverse community of insects despite being managed croplands.

Wonder if it might be something in this neighborhood...

Kyle and/or Solomon will know.

Almost certainly in that neighborhood.
I'm actually a bit startled. I looked through the Aphrodinae but apparently not closely enough. It's odd the sexual dimorphism present among them.
In any case, all of the specimens experienced discoloration both from decay and storage within ethyl alcohol which has made clear identification of some of them difficult.
